Madison Metro Bus

Low-Income Eligibility 
Metro 31-Day Passes are available to eligible low-income riders for $28 on a first-come, first-served basis. These passes are available on the 1st and 15th days of each month but supplies are limited, so riders are encouraged to purchase their passes on these dates or soon as possible. Senior/Disabled Reduced Fare
A senior/disabled reduced fare is available for senior citizens (65 years and older) and people with disabilities but proof of eligibility may be required. A reduced fare permit can serve as proof of eligibility. To apply for a permit, visit  or request an application at 608-266-4904 or at the Metro Transit Administrative Office at: 1245 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53703 from 7:30am-5:30pm.

Paratransit Services
Madison Metro provides paratransit service to persons with disabilities who cannot access the public transit system due to their disability. Paratransit service complements the same area and hours of the city bus system.

Application Process for Paratransit Services

  1. Fill out a paratransit application available at or 608-266-4466.
  2. Set up an an-person assessment at 608-266-4466. Assessments are available Tuesday through Thursday from 9am-3pm.
  3. Bring completed application to your assessment, which will be conducted at Metro Transit’s Administration Office located at 1245 E. Washington Ave. on the second floor. Metro can provide transportation to and from the in-person assessment.
  4. In addition to a completed application, bring along a current form of identification, and any school or employer unlimited ride pass that you might be using to ride.

Assessments usually take less than 30 minutes. Determinations are made within 21 days of receiving a completed application and assessment.
