Adam grew up in Door County on his parents’ dairy farm and his grandparents’ orchard (the third oldest in Door County). He milked cows, raised calves, lambs and pigs for meat and show and helped with fruit and vegetable picking from a very young age. His career in food and food business has been going on since the day that his grandmother put him on a stool and taught him to kneed and roll bread dough.
He worked as a dishwasher, prep cook, line cook, bartender and server before while in college, leading to a change of school and major. He then attended Fox Valley Technical College for Culinary Arts, Hotel & Restaurant Management, and Baking.
Adam worked at a number of restaurants in Appleton and Green Bay learning everything from basic pizza making to from-scratch cooking and management from leaders in the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. He ran the Food and Beverage for a golf resort in Door County, as well as managed their IT and phone system. He managed the managers and employees of nine cafeterias in Green Bay and Appleton, learning valued multi-tasking and personnel management skills. Adan helped Festival Foods to develop the HACCP program for their grab-and-go partnership with Express Convenience Centers. He also ran a restaurant in Middleton for several years and helped to develop value-added products and take them to market for his family’s organic orchard in Door County.
Since starting at FEED, Adam has worked with multiple businesses to get through the licensing and approval process, as well as finding markets and making connections for their products and services.
